Our design direction for the LUX website is tailored, energetic and co-ordinated. Our colour scheme, image filtering, interactive elements, copywrighting and design style is created to appeal to a wide range of target market groups while also reflecting the atmosphere of a festival.  Our strategy was to use these elements to convey a vibrant and fun website that also appears professional and coherent. One major priority was usability, within our designs we have experimented with how the user can use our website with ease. For this reason, our homepage has elements and links to each page to create an overall feeling of LUX when the viewer first arrives on the website and also for usability purposes. We have also created elements in our website that are foreword thinking in the marketing of LUX overall. These include the linking of artists and sponsors on the installations way to provide a fresh way to incorporate the sponsors throughout the show. We included a photo archive of previous years works on our installations page in order to raise awareness and excitement over the event. Our copywrighting is also carefully designed to appear personal and friendly in order to provide information in such a way that does not bore the user. We provided transport links and advice on our map, as we are aware many LUX goers are from out of Wellington. We created an emphasis on social media, as we are aware it’s an increasing marketing tool for modern society. Our live feed achieved this through images from numerous social media outlets were shared through the LUX hash tag. Our website is tailored specifically to the time of day as the homepage header alters to relate to the time the user is visiting the site. The elements we have created overall provide an informative site that clearly covers all elements of LUX with ease for the user while also appearing dynamic and interesting to aid in the marketing of LUX.
